Cellulite definition

Cellulite is a common problem in women around the world.

Most people believe that it only affects overweight people.

But this is not true.

Cellulite can affect anyone (and men can have it, but the cases are much rarer), regardless of their weight.

It is estimated that 80-90% of adult women will experience cellulite at some point in their lives.

Being a woman, there are great chances that you will face her too.

It is therefore important to understand what cellulite is, why it occurs and how you can get rid of it.

What is cellulite?

Cellulite is not a disease, but a condition characterized by deposits of adipose tissue (fat) with uneven distribution under the skin.

It occurs frequently in areas of the body that normally already have high levels of adipose tissue, such as the thighs, hips, buttocks, and arms.

From a medical point of view, cellulite does not directly affect health, but this condition gives the skin an unsightly appearance of orange peel.

What causes cellulite?

Cellulite is an accumulation of adipose tissue on the subcutaneous level, but this amount of accumulation, ie the degree of cellulite, is usually associated with certain factors:

• Genetic inheritance - Metabolism, fat distribution under the skin, ethnicity and blood circulation are genetic factors that can promote the appearance of cellulite.

• Female hormones - Estrogen and other female hormones play an important role in the development of cellulite. This is also the reason why it is more common in women and very rarely in men.

Pregnancy and menopause, with their related hormonal changes, increase the risk of triggering cellulite.

A hormonal imbalance can also be caused by contraceptives, which favors the appearance and / or aggravation of cellulite.

• Unhealthy eating habits - A diet rich in carbohydrates, fats and salt contributes to cellulite. Poor nutrition also leads to an accumulation of toxins in the body.

• An unhealthy lifestyle - Our daily habits can be the cause of many health problems, and cellulite is no exception. Smokers or those who lead a sedentary lifestyle have an increased risk of developing cellulite.

• Obesity - Excess weight can contribute to cellulite, although it is not a rule, as many thin people face this problem. However, the extra kilograms aggravate the appearance of the existing cellulite.

• Skin elasticity - The degree of skin elasticity decreases with age which increases the likelihood of cellulite. Even sudden weight loss can accentuate the appearance of cellulite due to decreased skin elasticity.

• Accumulation of toxins in the body - Stagnation of toxins in adipose tissue and difficulty in eliminating them is another cause that causes cellulite.

• Clothes that are too tight - Tight jeans, tights and tight-fitting underwear make blood circulation difficult, which favors the appearance of cellulite.

Most of the time cellulite is the result of several factors and not just one.

How can you get rid of cellulite?

Most women who have tried different methods to get rid of cellulite and have failed, have lost all hope and do not think there is any chance to eliminate it.

The good news is that you can get rid of cellulite.

But you will have to make some changes to your lifestyle.

Eat healthy

The anti-cellulite diet involves eating healthy and nutritious foods.

Try to eat unprocessed foods, as close as possible to their natural state, avoid products rich in carbohydrates and fats, fast food, fried foods, sausages, etc. Reduce salt intake because it promotes water retention and affects blood circulation.

Lean meat, ocean fish rich in healthy fats (salmon, wild tuna, mackerel, herring, cod), fruits, vegetables and high-fiber foods are products that you should eat regularly at the table.

Also, consuming alkaline foods helps you eliminate toxins from the body.

Most vegetables and fruits contain alkaline elements and these should make up the bulk of your diet.

And try to increase the intake of lecithin, a substance that protects dermal cells.

The most important foods that contain lecithin are: egg yolk, soy, spinach, cauliflower, tomatoes, oranges and apples.

Avoid sour juices, caffeinated beverages and alcohol.

Do sports and sweat

The next step you can take to prevent and eliminate cellulite is to make sure you follow a regular exercise program.

Exercise is extremely important when it comes to toning muscles and burning fat.

A training program that includes a combination of weight training and cardio exercises will prove to be most effective in this case.

Weight-bearing exercises will increase muscle mass (stay calm, you will not deform and you will not even grow bigger than you are now) giving your skin a firm and toned look.

It also speeds up the metabolism and causes the body to burn more calories, even after the workout is over.

Cardio exercises will help you lose extra pounds, which can reduce the appearance of cellulite.

You will also sweat heavily, which helps eliminate excess water and toxins from the body.

Drink plenty of water

Toxins not eliminated from the body accumulate mainly in the fatty layers of the body.

A key measure to reduce cellulite is to eliminate these toxins.

By consuming a large amount of water (at least 2 liters per day) you will be able to speed up the process of eliminating them.

Water also moisturizes the body and makes the skin smoother, which can reduce the appearance of cellulite.

Before starting an exercise program, consult your doctor to make sure it is right for you.

Drink teas

There are also some teas that can help you fight cellulite.

Green tea

Green tea is a natural remedy known for its effectiveness in the fight against cellulite.

Drinking green tea helps eliminate fluid accumulated in the body and will help you get rid of toxins and extra pounds.

Cherry tail tea

Cherry tail tea has anti-inflammatory properties and a diuretic effect that helps eliminate water retention and toxins from the body.

Dandelion tea

Dandelion tea has proven to be an excellent enemy of cellulite. It has a diuretic, purifying action and helps eliminate toxins from the body.

Just consuming any of the teas mentioned above is not enough to eliminate cellulite. Consume them in moderation, as adjuvants in addition to a healthy diet and exercise program.

Treat it with external remedies

Massage with coffee grounds

Caffeine is a basic ingredient in most anti-cellulite creams.

Gather two, three tablespoons of warm butter in a cup and mix them with two teaspoons of extra virgin olive oil until combined.

Then apply the mixture obtained on damp skin, using a sponge, massaging vigorously with circular motions. Leave as much mixture as possible on the areas where cellulite is present.

After massaging for 10 minutes, rinse the area where it was applied with warm water.

For an increased effect, you can also make wraps with coffee grounds.

After massaging your affected areas, use a plastic wrap to wrap the composition as tightly as possible around the areas where it was applied. Leave on for 30 minutes, then rinse with warm water or take a shower.

Try the coffee grounds massage a few times a week for a month, and the results will not be long in coming.

Apple cider vinegar

Apple cider vinegar is another very effective natural ingredient in the fight against cellulite.

Mix apple cider vinegar and water in equal proportions, and massage with this composition the areas affected by cellulite.

After 10 minutes of massage, put a warm towel over and wrap it in plastic wrap. Leave on for an hour, then rinse with warm water.

Apple cider vinegar can also be used in combination with the care products you usually use.

Mix a tablespoon of apple cider vinegar with two, three tablespoons of moisturizer or essential oil and massage the areas affected by cellulite.

Any of these massage methods should be repeated daily.

Apple cider vinegar is also a very good internal treatment against cellulite.

In a glass of lukewarm water add two tablespoons of apple cider vinegar, preferably organic, unfiltered. You can also add a little natural honey if you want. Mix them.

Consume the drink obtained every morning before meals.

Use a massage roller

One of the most useful products for eliminating cellulite is the massage roller.

The roller is used as a simple and effective way to improve blood circulation and reduce fluid accumulation in the body by stimulating the lymphatic system.

The roller is also ideal for relaxing muscles and can be used in both massage exercises and yoga or pilates.

There is no quick and easy way to get rid of cellulite.

If you are going to try to get rid of it, it is important to know from the very beginning that this process can prove to be a long one.

However, it is possible to prevent and eliminate it.

Healthy eating, regular exercise and massage are sometimes enough to get rid of it.

In some cases, however, and especially when adipose tissue deposits are visible as nodules, medical treatment may be needed to get rid of cellulite.
